the jam starts day after tomorrow

we have 35 registered jammers, 22 registered for the full trajectory of the jam - so i guess a number of later registrants are attending for part.

i've added a page registered jammers can use to get to the proper paypal online payment page in order to pay their balance online. in previous years claymont had very limited, if any, internet access, so you may want to use this link before you head to the jam, if you want to pay online.

spring jam excitement abounds!-)

to date, we have 32 jammers registered, and a good bit of eagerness among organizer and all of the jammer's i've spoken with.

registered folk, please look at the Rides discussion (and kevin's separate ride request) to see whether you can offer a ride.

what fuss is worthwhile and what is not?

as i'm instituting ways to do things on this site i'm always contending with uncertainties about what user's will and won't find to be worth the extra effort. i'm trying to minimize the incidental business, while also trying to use of those ning site features that will serve our purposes. i feel like the registration stuff is pretty decently streamlined, for instance. in particular, one need not join the site to register. the main qu

questions about the registration deposit

we're in that tense last week before the first increase in attendance costs - up $50 on March 26. as usual many people seem to be waiting 'til the last minute, with only a few registrations trickling in well before the deadline. i'm wondering whether that has something to do with our policy for handling the deposit?

i noticed that some other event offers a refundable deposit up until around three or four weeks before the event. i realized that reduces the pressure on people to resolve… Continue

IMPORTANT NOTE: We're being kicked off of ning

As of May 4, Ning, the host of the infrastructure on which i built this site, is suddenly changing their business model, and our presence here has been priced way out of our range. We have until August 20th before our free service is terminated, and I will be working on porting the refinements and innovations back to our old residence (my own content management site). I hope to preserve most of the member's contributed content - photos and videos - before we're wiped-out here in August.

In the meanwhile, i strongly recommend that people not depend on the social networking features for anything other than transient conversations - we will probably not be able to convey the ning mail, wall postings, and other connections and conversations to our old site.

A Site for East Coast Jammers, Past, Present, and Future

The East Coast Jam is a multi-day Contact Improvisation gathering at Claymont Court Estates in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside of Charles Town, West Virginia. This jam has been happening twice yearly, in the Spring and Fall, since 1987. Sometimes an ECJam is held to celeberate New Years, as well.

This site is for contact improvisors who have attended or are interested in attending an East Coast CI Jam. Join to keep track of jam events, register for a jam, communicate with other ECJammers, and to add your own comments, conversations, jam photos and videos, etc! See the "How To Use This Site" box on the left for guidance.

Spring 2010 Jam happened April 14-18
